Disney has just released its Free Dining Promotion for Walt Disney World. While many of the details remain the same there is one major change that may upset some people.
Free Dining Promotion for Summer 2019
Satisfy your appetite for fun with an unforgettable stay in the middle of the magic! Enjoy a FREE dining plan when you purchase a non-discounted 5-night/6-day vacation package that includes a room at a select Disney Resort hotel and a ticket with a Park Hopper Option or Park Hopper Plus Option.
Book through February 10, 2019 for arrivals most nights July 5 through September 30, 2019.
Changes to Free Dining
Thats right, free dining is for Summer 2019. It spans the first part of the previous years and adds an extra month at the front. It is also a very short booking window, just over 1 month. There is also one more change. You now need to book an extra night to qualify for this promotion. In years past, you needed to only book a 4 night/ 5 day stay to qualify.
Whats coming in Fall 2019
Although these changes may seem shocking, I’m not surprised at all. With Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge coming this fall. There should be no shortage of park guests, so Disney does not need to entice guests during this season to fill their rooms.
Important Details
- Deluxe Resorts and Deluxe Villas get Disney Dining Plan free
- Moderate and Value Resorts get the Disney Quick Service Dining Plan free
- Cannot be combined with any other discount or promotion.
- Offer excludes the following room types: 3-bedroom villas, campsites, Cabins at Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Bungalows at Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, Little Mermaid Standard Rooms at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.
- Gratuities are not included.
- Children ages 3 to 9 must choose from the children’s menu, if available.
However, sometimes “Free Dining” isn’t the best value depending on the room rates. Guests will pay rack rates for rooms during this promotion, which may actually wind up costing more than taking a room discount and paying out of pocket for food. We highly recommend that you use an experienced Authorized Disney Travel Agency (like Mickey Vacations) to compare prices and get you the best possible rate for your next trip.
